Osborne Richardson is currently recruiting for a Ranger and Senior Ranger for Central Highlands Regional Council. Ranger - contract until January 2027 Senior Ranger - contract until June 2026 These are diverse field-based roles suited to people who enjoy working outdoors, engaging with the public, and balancing education with enforcement. What you’ll be doing Responding to animal management requests including wandering animals, aggressive dogs and livestock incidents Conducting patrols, inspections and investigations under local laws and relevant legislation Issuing notices, infringements, permits and compliance documentation Operating and maintaining animal management facilities to ensure animal welfare standards are met Supporting responsible pet ownership through community education initiatives Maintaining accurate records and case notes using council systems Liaising with internal teams, emergency services and external stakeholders as required Representing council in compliance matters, including court proceedings where necessary About you Experience in local laws, compliance, animal management or a similar regulatory field Strong communication skills with the ability to manage difficult situations professionally Sound judgement and confidence applying legislation and procedures Comfortable working outdoors and handling animals Strong administrative and record-keeping capability Ability to work independently and as part of a team Mandatory requirements Queensland C Class Driver Licence Ability to obtain Blue Card ACDC licence and Commercial Operators Licence (or willingness to obtain) Desirable Local government experience Animal handling or pound/veterinary experience Certificate IV in Regulatory Compliance, Animal Control or similar First Aid Certificate For a confidential discussion, please contact Rebecca on 0473 825 278 or rebecca@osbornerichardson.com.au
